- Advanced/Intermediate *3 hours CPD
This course is aimed at team leaders, partners and other managers who manage individuals and teams within the firm. How effective are your one-to-one meetings with your fee-earners and other team members?
Financial targets need to be met and individuals within the team need to make that happen. Client-set KPIs also apply pressure and we need individuals to step up to the mark and deliver. This course is designed to help your management team do just that.
You’ll learn how to:
- Generate consistency across the management team
- Address issues that have been allowed to go unchecked for too long
- Handle difficult conversations and confront thorny issues
- Give effective feedback to individuals
- Tell someone they’re not at the required standard and keep them on side
- Set performance objectives
- Motivate with carrot and stick!
- Identify the standard of performance the firm requires
The Solicitors’ Code of Conduct Rule 5 makes the effective running of the firm a matter of professional conduct, requiring partners ‘to be able to produce evidence of a systematic and effective approach to management’. It requires effective systems for supervision, risk management and delegation, and expects training to ensure the competence of all personnel in performing their duties. This course will help you meet this requirement.
